Motion used in air-pumps

Motion used in air-pumps. On vibrating the lever fixed on the same shaft with the spur-gear, reciprocating rectilinear motion is imparted to the racks on each side, which are attached to the pistons of two pumps, one rack always ascending while the other is descending.

Only the input is driven; every other part of this model moves by physics (MuJoCo), and its ratios are measured. Run it live, change its parameters, or switch the friction off to see the output stop.

Modelled as
A spur-gear of 16 teeth (module 0.8) and a 20 cm lever hang on one shaft; the shaft is the only driven joint, swung 0.9 rad each way at 0.25 Hz. A rack (7 teeth) on each side of the gear slides up and down; each is the rod of a piston working in a pump cylinder above. No gravity (a plan). gen127.py.
Measured
Right rack against the gear -0.0653 m/rad and left rack +0.0653 (pitch radius 6.4 cm, 2% over in tooth contact), r2 1.0000; left against right -1.0000. Stroke +-5.87 cm. Penetration 0.01 mm.
Notes
One rack always ascends while the other descends, equal and opposite, by the gear teeth alone; the pistons are drawn in their cylinders.
