Uniform reciprocating rectilinear motion, produced by rotary…
106 and 107. Uniform reciprocating rectilinear motion, produced by rotary motion of grooved cams.
Only the input is driven; every other part of this model moves by physics (MuJoCo), and its ratios are measured. Run it live, change its parameters, or switch the friction off to see the output stop.
Modelled as
As No. 106, but the endless groove waves three strokes each way in a turn, at a steady 2.29 cm to the radian of the drum's angle (the turns rounded); walls 216 convex pieces. The groove is 0.03 cm clear of the 1 cm pin square to its walls, so the groove drives the rod both ways by real contact. The drum (10 rpm) is the only driven joint.
Measured
Rod slope -0.0224/+0.0229/+0.0229/-0.0229/+0.0229/+0.0229 m/rad vs +/-0.02292 (r2 0.998-1.000); stroke 2.3 cm; penetration 0.10 mm.
Notes
Neg control: pin out of contact -> the rod stands.
