Pendulums or swinging gutters for raising water by their pendulous motions. Terminations at bottom are scoops, and at top open pipes; intermediate angles are formed with boxes (and flap valve), each connected with two branches of pipe.

Only the input is driven; every other part of this model moves by physics (MuJoCo), and its ratios are measured. Run it live, change its parameters, or switch the friction off to see the output stop.

Modelled as
Seen from in front, gravity on. The frame of seven gutters is hinged at its middle and rocked 0.42 rad either way at 0.3 Hz, the only drive. Each gutter slopes 15 deg, alternately right and left, each with its open end over the closed end of the one above. The water in each gutter is a tank the frame carries: as the frame tips one way the water in every other gutter runs out at its low end into the gutter above, and on the return swing the others pour in turn, so the water climbs a stage each half-swing. The lowest gutter dips into the pond and fills; the top one pours into the trough on posts.
Measured
Frame swings ±0.42 rad; water passes up the stages each half-swing, about 6 g/s delivered into the trough. Motion gate pass.
Notes
The power that swings the frame is not drawn. Water in each gutter is lumped (a level surface in its section), its weight acting at one point; the trough's runoff is not drawn.
