Four-way cock, used many years ago on steam engines to admit and exhaust steam from the cylinder. The two positions represented are produced by a quarter turn of the plug. Supposing the steam to enter at the top, in the upper figure the exhaust is from the right end of the cylinder, and in the lower figure the exhaust is from the left—the steam entering, of course, in the opposite port.

Only the input is driven; every other part of this model moves by physics (MuJoCo), and its ratios are measured. Run it live, change its parameters, or switch the friction off to see the output stop.

Modelled as
Casing with four ports (steam top, exhaust bottom, cylinder ends left and right); plug with two curved ways; a key in the plug's square socket is the one driven joint (hand torque to and fro); a lug on the plug turns a quarter turn between two stops on the casing.
Measured
Plug rests at -1.576 rad against one stop then at 0.006 rad against the other each half period; penetration under 2 mm.
Notes
Brown's two figures are the two rest positions of one cock, shown here in turn; pipes drawn straight.
